I was in charge of redesigning the entire website for Pasta e Basta, an authentic Italian restaurant based in Miami. The goal was to translate the cozy, high-quality in-person experience of the restaurant into a digital platform. I worked on both the UX and UI design, creating a user-friendly, visually appealing site that makes it easy to book a table, browse the menu, and explore upcoming events.

Highlights

  • UX strategy focused on emotional storytelling and usability

  • Clean, elegant layout inspired by Italian simplicity and warmth

  • Responsive design optimized for mobile bookings and browsing

  • Color palette and typography aligned with the brand’s physical space

The Opportunity

I developed a refined and minimalistic design system using a warm beige, bold black, and clean white palette, paired with elegant serif typography. We used high-resolution photography to communicate the quality and care behind each plate, making the food the true protagonist of the experience.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge was replicating the essence of the restaurant—its atmosphere, attention to detail, and food quality—into a fully digital format. The client wanted the website to reflect the warmth and sophistication of the restaurant interior, while also highlighting the quality of ingredients and care in every dish. It was essential to create a visual experience that didn’t feel generic but truly “tasted like Italy” in Miami.
